Dr. Ernie DePasquale (Dr. Ernie) was born and raised in Hubbard, Ohio, and he graduated from Hubbard High School with honors. He received a scholarship to Y.S.U. where he played basketball and enrolled in pre med.  He graduated in 1975 and married Beverly Fusco of New Castle, PA, and they have two sons Steven and Scott.

He worked for Abbott Laboratories in Ashland, OH for 1 year in research and development, before starting medical school in July 1976. He completed medical school in three years instead of four years and completed his internship in one year instead of four years.  He was truly blessed by God, who answered all his prayers.

Dr. Ernie was a highly successful family doctor for 21 years, from 1980 to 2001.  He knew he was blessed because he prayed and received the answer to his most treasured request, which was to be accepted to medical school and become a successful family physician. Along the way success and money produced many unintended consequences, all of which Satan took control of, one being a broken promise that he made with God long ago, which was to serve mankind as the best doctor around, if God would get him through it with His grace and power.  God surely kept His side of the bargain, but Dr. Ernie did not.  Life’s luxuries and pleasures crept into his life, and retirement at age 47 was all he cared about.  He worked very long hours and loved and treated all of his patients as he did his own family.  Then the practice of medicine changed, “Managed Care” came into existence and literally made treating patients a chore for him.  Until a large renowned hospital approached him with an offer to buy his practice; he took the bait, and forgot his promise to God.  But God did not forget. 

On January 1, 2002, Dr. Ernie was all set to walk away into full retirement when on 9/11/2001 America was attacked, and so was Dr. Ernie’s soul.  You see, he thought he was almost invincible at this point, money, a good family and excellent health were all his.  On that notorious day it was as though God had struck His fist on the earth, and Dr. Ernie heard it loud and clear.  The fear of God came suddenly upon him, he truly thought he was going to die that day, and he was definitely not ready to meet the Lord.  This wake up call by God dramatically changed his life, from one seeking after life’s worldly pleasures to one seeking to really know God.  He thought he knew God prior to 9/11 by being a good Catholic and a weekly churchgoer, but he was wrong and on that day he was Born Again. (John 3:3, I Peter 1:23)  From that day forward he began to read the Bible daily and with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, he learned what it really meant to be a God fearing Christian, a saved child of God.  His whole outlook on life changed and he’s been living life through the leading of the Holy Spirit ever since.  He then wrote a book titled “You’d Better Believe It”.

Dr. Ernie met Don Reed, Sr. thru the internet and is now a co-host on the Crossing Paths TV show.  Crossing Paths is on over 100 cable stations and many radio stations.  The show can be seen locally on Ch. 27 Youngstown, OH Wednesday nights at 1:37 a.m. and Sunday mornings at 11:00 a.m. on FOX 17/62.  Other channels are Ch. 29-UHF Sharon, PA, cable 5 in Hermitage, PA, cable 7 in Greenville, PA, channel 29 in New Wilmington, PA.  Times are Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. and Friday nights at 11:00 p.m., as well as other cable companies.
